INTIMACY COORDINATION
The world of film and television has evolved significantly over the past few years and the need for intimacy coordinators has become more important than ever. As a professional in this field, Leigh brings not only her technical expertise but also her empathetic nature and focus on safety.
Actors are often asked to engage in scenes that are intimate or emotionally charged which can be overwhelming or triggering.
Leigh's role is to be of service to the talent as well as to the director and create a supportive and respectful environment for all involved, so that everyone can focus on their craft without fear or discomfort.
the process

As an IPA certified intimacy coordinator, Leigh will coordinate and plan with the director, actors, and crew to make certain that all intimate scenes are executed smoothly, safely, and performed with the utmost care in accordance with the SAG - AFTRA Standards and Protocols for the Use of Intimacy Coordinators.

Starting in prep, Leigh will facilitate communication between the director and actors, ensuring the director's vision while supporting the boundaries and processes of the talent.

Leigh will assist with nudity riders, modesty garments, barriers, and sexual dramaturgy recommendations that will enhance the scene, while making sure that everyone involved feels comfortable and respected at all times.

She will liaise with the costumes and makeup departments when necessary to ensure the appropriate nudity garments and prosthetics are provided.

On the day of, Leigh will ensure sets are closed and nudity guidelines are followed per the SAG-AFTRA protocol. ​

Upon request, she will happily work with the director to make sure any intimate scenes are communicated, choreographed, and blocked appropriately.

Leigh will also be available to support crew members during scenes of intimacy and serve as on-set advocate and ally for LGBTQIA+ cast members.
